On the Sunday 21st March, a run was held at Nonsuch Park in order to raise money for sport relief. With over 1,400 people taking part, it was packed full of enthusiasm to raise money for sport relief. You could run either one mile or six miles. The public’s creativity triumphed with groups of people taking part in various different ways. There was a particular group of nine 6th form students from Blenheim High School who ran the whole mile tied together at the ankles. They gathered much support and managed to raise over £400!
Sport relief is a good time of year and is famous for its help to so many unfortunate people all over the world. They manage to fund projects across Africa in the poorest countries.
But your money is not always sent abroad. Many issues in England are also faced such as domestic violence and alcohol abuse, disadvantaged children all over the country, mental health organisations and many more.
Over the last few weeks there has been a lot of charity work all over the Epsom and Ewell area. There has been the sport relief run as well as rag week in schools including Blenheim High School and Rosebery School.
