By Community Correspondent Emily Horton Wimbledon College school productions are not your typical amateur attempts at famous musicals. They have now become renowned for their practical professional productions. Ask anyone in the audience what they think, and I can personally guarantee you that they will only sing the highest of praises.

This year the College faced yet another challenge, Guys and Dolls. Which has been massive Broadway success, as it has won numerous “Toni” awards and been running for almost 60 years. The musical was most famously brought to life by the motion picture of “Guys and Dolls” starring Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine.

Of course, Wimbledon College rose to the challenge; greatly assisted by the Ursuline High School, who provided all the members of the female cast. The acting was spectacular and professional; the singing was pitch perfect and faultlessly timed; and the set was intricate and eye catching. However none of this would have been possible without the huge amount of commitment the students and teachers put into the production.

At sometimes it was stressful; sometimes it was impossible. However there is not one student who would say it was completely worth it.
