Kingston’s train services will not run during evenings next week as part of a massive disruption due to industrial strike action after the Easter holiday.
South West Trains have announced trains going through Kingston will operate a vastly reduced service and will not be running after 7pm during the strikes on April 6, 7, 8 and 9.
Andy Pitt, managing director of South West Trains, said: "We are very disappointed that our customers will be inconvenienced as a result of this industrial action.
"While the rail network will remain open, we will be operating a vastly reduced service and the trains that do run are expected to be extremely busy.
"As such, passengers will be severely impacted in their travel plans and are advised to check for the latest information prior to travelling, seek alternative means of travel where possible and to allow additional time for their journey."
Trains from Waterloo will be reduced to just two an hour on the following lines in both directions: Basingstoke via Surbiton Kingston via Richmond, Hampton Court via Surbiton.
There will only be one train an hour in each direction between Waterloo and Guildford via Surbiton.
SWT has not announced plans to provide any rail replacement buses for any of these services.
