Gary Noel scored twice as Croydon Athletic moved four points clear at the top of Ryman League Division One South with a 2-0 win over Dulwich Hamlet.

It was a good response from Tim O'Shea's side following Saturday's defeat to Met Police and sets them up for Saturday's showdown with promotion rivals Worthing.

Noel put Croydon into an early lead after just seven minutes when his header from Rory Hill's corner squirmed through the arms of Dulwich keeper Phil Wilson.

He then doubled his tally on 20 minutes later running on to Chris Piper's throughball and taking his time before slotting under Wilson.

Tom Bolarinwa was forced off after half an hour having taken a knock to his shin to be replaced by Leslie Thompson.

Gareth Williams had a chance to extend the lead 20 minutes into the second half when he latched on to Joe Howe's long ball but Wilson saved at his feet.

Noel then set up Gareth Williams again but Wilson blocked his low shot with his legs.

Dulwich came back into the game after that and Kevin James hit the crossbar with a free kick and Andy Little had to make a smart save at his near post.

Any chance they had though of grabbing a point disappeared with 10 minutes left when Yinka Salami picked up his second booking for a foul on Thompson.

Gareth Williams was again denied by Wilson before the end as the Rams eased to victory.
