Croydon Athletic striker Gary Noel is targeting a double dose of glory after firing the Rams four points clear at the top of Ryman League Division One South.

The 20 year-old scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Dulwich Hamlet on Monday night to go top of the goalscoring chart in the league with 21 goals, one ahead of Waltham & Hersham's Martin Grant, and hopes he can continue hitting the target and win both the Golden Boot and the League.

"I want to get top goalscorer and I just have to try and keep scoring," he said.

"That is what I am driving for and maybe I will get it.

"I did come off the pace a little bit in the middle of the season but hopefully I will get more confidence now and see if I can drive on in the next couple of games and get more goals.

"There's a lot of competitions for places here and we have just bought a new striker in Jacob Erskine who is quite good but it puts me in more competition and helps me trying to score more as well."

The Rams are now favourites to clinch promotion to the Ryman Premier but still face crunch away ties at rivals Folkestone Invicta and Worthing, who they visit this Saturday.

"The Premier is where we want to be," said Noel.

"We have just got to keep grinding out results and doing what we are doing and hopefully we will get the championship, that is what we are driving for.

"It is a big game on Saturday but hopefully we can just keep doing our stuff and we will get a result."

Manager Tim O'Shea was pleased his side bounced back from Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Met Police, but believes the promotion race could go down until the last game.

"It will go the wire and I would be very surprised if you saw the top three sides win all their remaining games," he said.

"Saturday's game at Worthing is a big game but it's not the be-all-and-end-all, it's not winner takes all.

"We can only go into the game the same as we go into any game, to win."
