Organisers are preparing for record visitor numbers as Wimbledon Arts studios - home to more artists then any other single site in Europe - opens its doors to the public.
The studio’s 27th bi-annual open day will feature more than 100 artists displaying their work at the purpose-built site in Riverside Yard between Thursday, May 13 and Sunday, May 16.
Established in 1993, the studios opened with six artists renting spaces alongside a paper printing business.
The original warehouse now consists of more than 100 studio spaces with another 60 in a newly-constructed art complex, on the same site.
More than 5,000 people are expected at the next open day as artists working across almost every discipline, from painting to furniture making, put their work on sale.
