Seven parents have graduated from a parent programme run by the Wandsworth branch of Welcare, a Christian charity which works with children and families.
The 13-week course, named Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities, was designed by the Race Equality Foundation.
The scheme aimed to provide parents with skills to enhance parenting ability, and reduce isolation.
Parents discussed their ethnic and cultural backgrounds and the way they were brought up themselves.
They also learnt techniques to promote self-esteem and self-discipline in children.
The parents came to Welcare in Trinity Road to collect their certificates on March 15. For information on other Welcare courses call 020 8767 1020.
