Chris Grayling, MP for Epsom and Ewell and shadow home secretary, helped Epsom-based disability charity Through the Roof launch an appeal for wheelchairs for Haiti at an event supported by Horton Golf Club.
Through the Roof is working now to raise £10,000 to take chairs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and wheelchair technicians to Haiti and meet the long-term need.
The chairs are fitted by skilled volunteer teams and Through the Roof have previously carried out work in Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Ukraine and many other countries, responding to need.
Anyone interested in supporting this appeal, or finding out more about the charity should visit www.throughtheroof.org or call 01372 749955.
