A cyclist who travelled more than 200 miles raising money for charity has had his bike stolen.
Prejay Dhamelia-York, from Coulsdon, raised more than £1,500 for Diabetes UK when he cycled from London to Paris last year.
The 23-year-old “adored” getting around on his bike and was distraught when it went missing from his back garden two weeks ago.
He said: “The gate was locked – I can’t believe someone had the audacity to jump over the fence.
“To who ever stole my bike: I just want you to think about how other people feel and hope you have the decency to give it back.”
The stolen bike is a silver, professional cross-trial model with front suspension, designed for off-road cycling and racing.
Mr Dhamelia-York hoped to enter the same charity cycle this year, but without a bicycle his plans have been scuppered.
