The pair investigate, only to find the escaped patient has vanished into thin air and with nobody willing to talk it is clear to the Marshals that there is something more sinister happening at Shutter Island. Their suspicions are deepened by the actions of the mysterious and menacing head psychologist (Kingsley). Stumbling upon the web of conspiracy and deception, they decide to unravel the secrets and horror at Ashecliffe, facing peril in doing so.
Leonardo DiCaprio shines as Daniels in this gripping and intense thriller, as a man still suffering emotional from the death of his wife, pushed to the edge, to questioning his own sanity on Shutter Island. Shutter Island is not a film without it flaws, but it is an enticing, gothic piece, and with an all star cast including DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley and Michelle Williams, the film is an enthralling ride from master moviemaker Martin Scorcese, with a surprise twist ending that will leave you reeling, it’s a film not to be missed.
