Woking & Horsell 142
Warlingham 143-6

Warlingham secured their Division Three status for another year by recording their third win in four games and now have a chance of promotion.

Skipper Tim Slade asked Woking to bat and had an early success, when captain Munro was bowled for just two.

Kiwi Kieron White came on and bowled a lively spell, and was rewarded with the wicket of Meyer for 35. White (3 for 43) then removed Anderson and Portlock, and with opener Morley run out for 32, the Woking innings had collapsed to 73 for five.

Murphy and Strudwick batted sensibly to take the score to 129, but with Mahesh Amin bowling his usual containing spell, the home side were under pressure to accelerate, and eventually succumbed to 142 all out.

Warlingham suffered the worst possible start when the in-form Jaco Louw was clean bowled first ball by the dangerous Anderson.

Dil Amin followed shortly afterwards for two, but stand-in opener Gerard Pretorius was batting agressively.

Pretorius made 32 out of the first 48 before falling to Anderson, and then an assured partnership between second team captain Tom Donoghue, who made an excellent 33 under pressure, and the consistent Nishan Naidoo (23) took the total to 85.

White completed a fine match with a classy 30, but when he fell to slow left armer Honey with 18 still needed, the Woking bowlers were recalling the collapse they inflicted when they beat Warlingham early in the year.

But with Field in at number seven they would have their work cut out, and some big shots from Ian Pizzey saw Warlingham home, winning with seven overs to spare as Field finished with nine not out and Pizzey completed matters with a six.
