Hurricane and Spitfire aeroplanes are to return to Croydon's skies for the 65th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The aircraft will fly over the war memorial in Purley Way this Sunday to commemorate the event.
The mayor of Croydon Councillor Maggie Mansell will join the mayors from Sutton and Bromley and veterans at the memorial from 1.30pm. RAF Air Vice Marshall Clive Evans and Superintendent Peter Gibbons will also attend. All are welcome to attend the event.
