Unlike The Diary, who prefers to spend birthdays supping a vermouth on the rocks and ripping open a pile of presents, Croydon Central's Conservative MP spent his 46th working.
Andrew Pelling, whose birthday was last Saturday, said he held a record number of home visits and surgeries seeing 16 residents and their families during his 10-hour stint.
Mr Pelling said: "Seeing and serving so many people was a great birthday treat."
The only birthday treat The Diary is interested in is a massive slice of cake but it does leave one wondering if other Croydon MPs can hold a birthday candle to Mr Pelling?
