Budget clothing and homeware chain Primark could open a branch in Croydon.
Retail group Associated British Foods (ABF), which owns Primark, recently bought 120 Littlewoods stores across the UK in a deal worth in the region of £409million.
Under the deal all Littlewoods stores, including the store in North End, will continue to trade under the Littlewoods name until March 2006. Between 25-40 stores will then be developed into Primark outlets.
The fact Croydon is currently without a Primark strengthens its position as a location.
What do you think? Would Primark be a boost to the high street? Write to the address on page 2 or email newsdesk@croydonguardian.co.uk.
