Dozens of green balloons were released into the skies above Old Coulsdon last Tuesday.
The balloon launch was the culmination of a month-long fundraising drive by staff at the Tudor Rose Harvester - which included a sponsored walk - for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity that grants the wishes of children living with life threatening diseases.
Cards were attached to the balloons and the person who finds the balloon that has travelled the furthest could win a romantic champagne trip for two in a hot air balloon.
Harvester manager Mark Belamy said: "It's a really deserving cause and we're so pleased to be supporting it this year."
