I find it hard to believe that meals which are served in Croydon's schools are considered to be "more than adequate" and contain the recommended daily vitamins etc.
I strongly disagree with the findings as I have children who attend a primary school in Croydon and who are also entitled to free dinners, which I might add they do not receive, because I choose to supply them with a packed lunch which is a healthy alternative.
School meals often consist of chips and various forms of breaded chicken or turkey shapes which are served cold, quite often burnt and in extremely small portions leaving children hungry.
My children do not eat red meat but are not vegetarians. Their needs are often overlooked and they are given limited choice as to what they can eat.
