Crystal Palace assistant manager Neil McDonald has rubbished reports of a training ground bust-up following Iain Dowie's announcement of his much changed line-up to play Millwall.
The Palace boss made five changes to the side which started in the defeat against Luton Town the previous Saturday and media reports suggested some Palace players reacted angrily to the news.
First-team regulars Gabor Kiraly, Tom Soares and Clinton Morrison were relegated to the bench and defender Darren Ward didn't even make the final 16 for Saturday's game. But McDonald has passionately denied claims of unrest inside the Palace camp.
McDonald said: "I was there at the training ground on Friday and when the manager named the line-up everyone was supportive of the team and the players coming in.
"Of course training was lively as there were some disappointed faces, but everyone got on with it as usual.
"Where those reports came from I don't know."
Despite the changes, the Eagles still failed to get out of their current rut after it took a last-gasp equaliser from Ben Watson to save a point from a game they should have comfortably won.
Now the euphoria of the late leveller has died down, the Palace players and staff have had time to reflect on the performance, which McDonald admits was not up to standard.
McDonald said: "It was a disappointing result. We have looked at it on the video and we are disappointed not to have scored earlier than the 92nd minute."
But the former Bolton first team coach did feel that the display was an improvement on the woeful performance at Kenilworth Road where the Eagles were outplayed by Luton Town.
McDonald said: "It gave everybody a lift after the Luton game because no one performed, so they picked themselves up and although we were disappointed to lose at Middlesbrough, where we lost to two quick goals, we matched them and wanted to take that performance into the Millwall game.
"Apart from the two shots in the first half and when they hit the bar in the second, they hardly threatened us. We had a lot of possession and we feel we should have won the game."
The Eagles will be looking to get back to winning ways this Saturday with the visit of Wolves to Selhurst Park.
Glenn Hoddle's men won the previous encounter between the two sides at the beginning of the season 2-1 at Molenuex, so Palace will be looking for revenge.
McDonald revealed that a few Eagles players took knocks on Saturday, namely Fitz Hall, who was substituted, but all should be available for selection.
The only definite absentees are Danny Granville, Danny Butterfield, Aki Riihilahti and Marco Reich, who are still not ready for first team action.
