This summer MC Mozart is releasing his latest single ‘Partyholic’ featuring D-Soul (produced by Freskbeatz). His recent single ‘Funky Junkie’ has already sold over 2000 copies on iTunes. Not only is he a Lyricist and Poet, he’s one of Croydons’ rising young talents. At only 18 years old he has played at several gigs in Croydon and has had his own unofficial gigs around England, where he played in Leicester, South London and North London.
Mozart has amazing initiative and used the money he made towards funding his music video ‘Funky Junkie’ which aired on Channel AKA in December 2009. “Funky Junkie” got most views on the second day of its release and has been buzzing in the music industry ever since.
MC Mozart has been on grime online radio, Mixing Radio, Urban Fm TV, Tease FM and was one of the youngest grime online DJs; he achieved all this before the age of 17. None of this would have been achieved without his immensely dedicated fan base, especially the extraordinary support he has in South London.
He explains “this is just the beginning of my musical journey”, he sees himself experimenting with different genres such as dance and indie. Additionally, he already has his own clothing range called “Ganna B Star” which and is sponsored by “me clothing”.
Extremely thankful to his family, friends and fans Mozart tells me that “key support has come from my mother” and his inspiration comes from a broad range of artists such as “Wiley, Roll Deep, Project One and Akala”. This 18 year old, is extremely motivated and this is the driving force of his success so far. I am almost certain that he can move nowhere but up in the industry.
