Residents of West Hill have just seven days left to have their say on a housing development planned near a conservation area.
A five-storey block of flats is proposed at 60-62 West Hill Road, where there is currently a car showroom.
Next to the site is West Hill Conservation Area, which hosts period houses and the former home of George Eliot, the Victorian novelist.
Residents have objected on the grounds that it could block their light and that it is out of keeping with the area.
They say the homes in the conservation area are three storeys high or less.
George Eliot, also known as Mary Anne Evans, was the author of Middlemarch and The Mill on the Floss.
To view the application and have your say, visit the planning section of wandsworth.gov.uk and go to application number 2010/0325.
Consultation closes on Thursday, April 8.
