Staines Town allowed a golden opportunity to consolidate a play-off position slip away in Good Friday’s 1-0 home defeat by Worcester City.
Worcester snatched a 17th minute lead when Alfie Carter forced the ball home after Louis Wells had made a fine stop.
A 20th-minute incident produced a real talking point about how referee Matt Foley failed to produce a red card.
Marquis clattered into Shab Khan near the corner flag and the referee then chased the Staines man and pinned him against the barrier.
There were a further eight yellow cards after that, but the only man to see red was Ali Chaaban late on for a second bookable offence when he threw the ball into the ground in frustration at a decision.
