Italian sports cars will descend upon Brooklands Museum in Weybridge on Saturday, May 1, as part of an action-packed bank holiday weekend at the venue.

Organisers hope to beat last year’s record of more than 200 Ferraris present, and local car dealer HR Owen plans to debut the new Ferrari 458 Italia as well as the Maserati Gran Cabrio.

Sports car writer Vicki Butler-Henderson will also give a demonstration of the Abarth 500 Asetto Corsa on the famous Brooklands Test Hill.

Other attractions include trade stands and a chance for guests to check out the museum’s concorde experience.

The event starts at 8.30am and tickets cost £12 for adults, £9 for seniors, £6 for children, or £30 for families.

The following Monday, the museum’s annual Emergency Services Day takes place, with fire engines, police cars and ambulances from the past and present congregating for the enjoyment of visitors.

The event, which will be opened by the mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor James Vickers, will also include displays by the Berkshire Search and Rescue dogs and the Royal Logistics Corps and a live accident recovery demonstration.

St John Ambulance will offer free half hour Breath of Life courses.

Tickets cost £9 for adults, £8 for seniors, £5.50 for children, or £30 for families.

There is also a special discount for troops and their families, with £2 off per person on production of a valid Military Identity Card or Dependants Identity Card.
