Two men have been charged following the death of a man in Carshalton.
William Eugene Scott, 54, 294 Winchcombe Road, Carshalton and David John Howard, 42, of 296 Winchcombe Road, Carshalton are both charged with the murder of a 43-year-old man, named locally as Danny Tyson, 43, in Winchcombe Road, Carshalton on Monday 26 April.
Both men will appear in custody at Sutton Magistrates' Court today.
Police were called at about 9.15pm on Monday to reports of a man being assaulted in Winchcombe Road, Carshalton.
Officers and the ambulance service attended and discovered 43-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds, lying in the street. He was treated by air ambulance staff, but died at the scene.
A post-mortem examination began yesterday afternoon at St Helier Mortuary.
An incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Damian Allain from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command.
DCI Allain said: "We would like to hear from anyone who lives in the area and may have seen or heard anything on Monday April 26.
"This man was brutally murdered in the street, and if you saw something and have not yet come forward to speak to police we would urge you to do so and assist us in this investigation."
