A plumber has been charged with the manslaughter of a popular dance teacher who died of a suspected carbon monoxide leak.

Paul Williamson, 51, is said to have breached gas safety regulations when he carried out work at 26-year-old Elouise Littlewood’s flat in Bedfont, near Feltham.

He has also been charged with the unlawful wounding of her lodger Simon Kilby, 34, who has been in a “permanent non-responsive state” since he was found collapsed in their lounge on February 27, 2008.

Mr Williamson was bailed and is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court next Friday. He faces a third charge of breaching gas safety regulations.

Croydon-based Malden Plumbing and Heating Ltd, the firm which contracted Mr Williamson, has been served with a summons to appear at the same court next Friday.

The company, which has offices at Bridge Parade in Waddon Road, has been charged with breaching health and safety laws.

Mr Williamson, of Chaucer Gardens, Sutton, voluntarily attended Holborn police station on Monday.

Police were called to the new block of flats in Wooldridge Close at 10.20pm on February 27, 2008, where they found the body of Ms Littlewood. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Kilby was taken to hospital and remains in long-term care.

Ms Littlewood’s parents Alan and Sally-Anne and her brother Matthew created a page on a memorial website called “Gone Too Soon”.

The family said: "Elouise was bright, beautiful and full of life. Words cannot express what she meant to us all. She was our life and life will never quite be the same without her."
