A security van was attacked outside Barclays Bank in Worcester Park this afternoon.
A spokeswoman for Barclays has confirmed that the incident took place at about 1pm today during the bank's usual money run.
The branch on Central Road has now been closed while police investigate. The area has been cordoned off.
A Met police spokesman said police were called at 12.50pm to reports of a cash in transit robbery at Barclays Bank.
He said two men robbed a cash box and ran off down Lynwood Drive.
He said: "There were no reports of any injuries. The Met Police flying squad are investigating.
"No arrests have been made, but enquiries continue."
