An explosion inside a Second World War bomb shelter hospitalised a 25-year-old on Saturday.
Police said the man was treated for eye injuries by doctors after a canister exploded in the back garden of a property in Cardinal Avenue, Morden, just before 4pm.
Fire, police, and ambulance crews attended the scene although no one else was hurt in the incident.
The injured man was thought to be taking down the bomb shelter before the accident.
