A freeze on council tax was a major promise from the Conservative party in their manifesto as they drew attention to the fact that Kingston and Surbiton has the highest rates in London.

By contrast, the Liberal Democrat party focussed on the fight against climate change.

The Labour party has put Kingston's crumbling housing stock at the top of its priorities.

And the Christian Peoples Alliance drew attention to its protest over high salaries for top council officers as well as making sure the new secondary school in north Kingston is church-run when it is built.
