Camberley Town 3 Banstead Athletic 0

The scoreline doesn't tell the whole story of Banstead's fight to keep out of the bottom three. With a questionable referee decision for the opener and an offside goal, Camberley Town were fortunate to win by this margin, writes Bob Lockyer.

Banstead battled to get something from this game.

In the first half, they were under the cosh, a questionable penalty was given by the referee after the ball clearly hit Tom Hughes on the jaw and, although he had his hands up, the force of the ball actually drew blood on his face.

So the visitors went 1-0 down, after Sills had sent Amis the wrong way.

Camberley were getting on top and were causing problems for Banstead down the flanks, with their passing.

They did like the long ball, which was causing Banstead some problems.

Banstead had chances - Alistair John hit a shot that went just over the bar, while Hawkins had a header that went wide.

Banstead were playing some good football, all they were missing was a player to finish off the chances they were creating.

Moriarty took a free-kick after a foul. He sent the ball over the wall and Zak Graham, on the goaline, got his head to it but somehow put it wide with the goal at his mercy.

Moriarty had a shot but it went wide also.

Davidson, in the back four, along with Hawkins were clearing up any problems.

In the second half, Banstead were managing to get a few passes and a bit of control going.

They started to play some good football.

Dilloway put a cross over and Graham just failed to connect.

It was certainly a better performance than of late from Banstead.

Manager Paul Norris brought on Michael Lyons on for Hawkins.

Banstead pushed players up to try to get this elusive goal, and were caught, although the Camberley player appeared offside.

The assistant disagrred and Muir went on to slide the ball into the bottom right corner of the net on 88 minutes.

Then, with a cruel stroke of luck, the ball rebounded to Sills in injury-time and he claimed his second and Camberley's third.

With Colliers Wood United and Raynes Park Vale winning, the pressure is on Banstead to get result from their last game of the season on Thursday against Bookham.

With the teams below them having games in hand, it is imperitive Banstead get a positive result to help keep them in the top division.
