Paul Hart reckons Crystal Palace have to go for broke at Hillsborough on Sunday as they look to gain the point that would ensure their Championship safety.

With the Eagles hosting a two point advantage over relegation rivals Sheffield Wednesday, a draw would keep Palace up and send the Owls down.

But Hart insists his side have to go for the win.

He said: “If we go to Hillsborough and park the bus outside our 18-yard box we are asking for trouble.

“You cannot go into a game like this looking to play for a draw as you are likely to get your trousers pulled down.

“We must not let them get at us.

“It is a massive mental challenge and the players are ready for a game of this magnitude.

“We have to go up there and sort them out and stay in this division.”

Palace failed to secure their safety on Monday night when they could only draw 1-1 with West Brom at Selhurst Park.

And Hart admits he had a feeling the campaign would go down to the last game.

He added: “When I moved here I looked at the fixtures and this one jumped out at you.

“I knew that it could happen and the simple fact is we are in a full-blown relegation fight.

“But we have to remember our away form is very good and take confidence from that.”

Hart, who turned out 52 times for Wednesday in his playing days, has no idea where he will be next season.

But the Palace boss certainly aims to end on a high.

Hart added: “It is in our own hands and up to us.

“It is going to be a great occasion with a full house .

“But these are the games you want to be involved in in football.

“We have a squad of players that are extremely strong mentally and we have to prove that on Sunday.”
