This car crashed just metres from a bus stop full of people before it was abandoned outside a pub.
The green Ford Focus was found outside the Manor Arms early on Monday, August 30, with the bonnet smashed and oil leaking into the road.
Barman Eddie McCafferty, 48, said the smash happened between 6.30am and 6.45am.
He said the skid marks indicated the car crashed into two bollards and was then parked outside the pub in Mitcham Lane.
A man in a newsagents at the time of the incident said: “I heard the car go over the bollards.
“There were lots of people in the bus stop.
“If the car had crashed two metre’s earlier it would have hit them.”
