A Youth MP represented south London in an Olympics panel alongside former Olympic and World champion athlete Jonathan Edwards.
Sixteen-year-old Megan Barnes fielded questions from people wanting to know more about London Olympics 2012.
British triple jumper and world gold medalist, Jonathan Edwards, CBE, led the Question Time event which was attended by more than 100 south London representatives including business leaders, community members and teenagers.
Megan Barnes, Sutton MYP, said: “It was great to meet Jonathan Edwards and work alongside him at this event.
“There were many questions about the Olympics coming to London in 2012 and this was a really good opportunity for young people to have their say.”
The event was been organised by Go South Go, the South London collaborative project for the London Games, who have been working to make sure South London businesses and residents feel the benefits, and that they also have the chance to contribute to hosting a fantastic Games.
Councillorr Dave Callaghan said: “I am very pleased that Megan was chosen to represent South London’s young people on this Olympics panel.
“She is very enthusiastic about her role as Sutton’s Youth MP and works hard to see other people’s views are heard.”
