Speroni (7) Busier of the two keepers, couldn't do too much about the goals. Palace fans must be glad he didn't make a transfer deadline day switch to Fulham.
Clyne (6) Won his personal battle against former Palace man Jobi McAnuff but did not get forward enough.
McCarthy (6) At fault for the first penalty, but otherwise a decent performance.
Gardner (6) Looked fine in the first-half but faded in the second. Should have headed a goal from Neil Dann's free-kick.
Bennett (6) Starting to look like a Championship defender, penalty decision against him looked harsh.
Dorman (6) Quiet first-half, sacrificed at half-time as Palace chased the game.
Counago (6) Some neat touches, should have had a goal, helped lead the line with James Vaughan.
Garvan (6) Always trying to create something from midfield, but couldn't find the telling pass that was needed.
Marrow (7) Played as the deep lying midfielder, did what was asked of him.
Cadogan (6) 65th minute sub for Alex Marrow as Palace looked to push forward.
Danns (5) Struggled to get in the game, too many misplaced passes for a player of his quality.
Djilali (7) Looked lively in the opening stages, but pushed out to wide to be of any support to James Vaughan.
Vaughan (7) Decent enough debut, only a brilliant save denied him a goal. Worked hard - his marker Matt Mills will have known he had been in a game.
Andrew (5) 80th minute sub for Vaughan, who was already on a yellow card and not match fit. No chances came his way.
Subs Not Used: Davis, Barrett, Price, Holness.
Booked: Vaughan, McCarthy, Bennett, Clyne.
Att: 17,921 Ref: Keith Hill (Hertfordshire).
