Blake Steadford from Sanderstead, and Elliott Anderson of Croydon, had the chance to play in a football tournament at Arsenal FC’s London Colney training ground.
They were part of a seven man squad to represent Arsenal Soccer Schools in Kent, Surrey and Sussex, in a tournament that pitted schools from different regions head-to-head.
Blake and Elliott graced the turf trodden each day by the likes of Theo Walcott and Cesc Fabregas, and even the England squad, who had trained there earlier in the week.
The football mad youngsters secured their places in the tournament through attending local Arsenal Soccer Schools.
They both took part in summer courses and impressed the coaches so much, they were chosen to represent the area of Kent, Surrey and Sussex in this one-off tournament.
Blake and Elliott refused to be overawed by the occasion, and were in impressive form for the team, combining to help their region to tournament victory.
Team coach, Barry Jeffreys, said: “Both lads played their socks off and had a terrific day at Arsenal’s training centre.
"It’s great to be able to reward the kids who come on our Arsenal Soccer Schools with once in a life time opportunities like this.
“Our partnership with the club gives us access to all sorts, but special days out like this are the icing on the cake.
“We strive to teach the kids to play the Arsenal way and that job’s made a lot easier when we’re given access to their elite training centre.
“It is incredible to think our team have also followed in the footsteps of the England squad who were training here earlier in the week.”
