Following a recent wave of measles outbreaks in the county, experts from NHS Surrey and Surrey County Council are today launching a new short film developed with help from a local community affected by measles.

The film, which is available at www.surreyhealth.nhs.uk, includes interviews with local health experts, talking about symptoms to look out for and how the illness is treated.

It also features a first hand account from a teenage boy from a traveller community who became seriously ill after catching measles, talking about his experiences and urging people to get vaccinated, rather than run the risk.

The short film will be published on You tube, shared with health professionals and posted on websites for traveller communities to help raise awareness of measles and MMR.
