Two Clapham children are devastated after yobs snatched their puppy in broad daylight.
Frankie and Bart Guinane were walking down Cavendish Road at 7.45pm on Saturday evening when their Staffordshire Terrier cross was stolen.
The pair, aged 10 and 14, took their two puppies, Bonnie and Trevor, for a walk with their friend Louie, also 14.
As they walked past Tooting Bec Common, they noticed two men in a car looking at the puppy but thought nothing of it.
Several minutes later, a man jogged up behind them and snatched Bonnie’s lead off Louie.
He scooped up the puppy, ran across the road and jumped in the car, which then headed north.
The children realised the car, a silver Nissan with no numberplates, had followed them down the road.
Bonnie and Louie were only 14 weeks old and had been bought together as brother and sister.
The children’s mother, Lindsey, 47, said: “Bonnie was very much part of the family. My daughter is devastated. She’s finding it hard to eat or sleep.
“I know that Bonnie’s been stolen to fight or to breed. It doesn’t bear thinking about what they’re going to do to her.”
