Player Ratings Crystal Palace V Portsmouth p> Speroni (6) - Mix-up for the Pompey goal, maybe he should have stayed on his line. A few other shaky moments but made the saves when needed.
Clyne (7) - George Burley moved him to left back to deal with the pace of Hayden Mullins. Another former Palace player was kept in his pocket.
Marrow (6) - Switched from a defensive midfield role against Reading to right back against Portsmouth. Not his natural position but filled in well enough.
McCarthy (7) - Strong performance from the captain, did not put a foot wrong all night..
Gardner (6) - One piece of comical defending for the opposition equaliser but otherwise an alright night.
Djilali (8) - Lively and direct from the off, got forward at every opportunity and shot well.
Danns (8) - The real Neil Danns stood up tonight. Performed much better than on Saturday, partly due to his more central role.
Counago (6) - 89th minute sub for Danns, no time to impress.
Garvan (7) - Creatively at the heart of most Palace attacks along with Danns. Unlucky not to score.
Cadogan (8) - The Palace manager wanted his two wingers to get at the Pompey defenders rather than crossing from deep. That they did.
Vaughan (9) - Hat-trick hero on his home debut. Led the line well, and got his reward.
Andrew (6) - 81st minute sub for Vaughan. One shot and one yellow card.
Dorman (6) - Quietly effective in midfield.
Subs Not Used: Price, Davis, Barrett, Bennett, Holness.
Booked: Garvan, Andrew.
Att: 14,219 Ref: Peter Walton (Northamptonshire).
