A trio of car insurance dodgers have been caught by police after being given away by their number plates.
Officers from the Woodside and Ashburton safer neighbourhood teams(SNTs) caught the uninsured drivers during an operation in Portland Road on September 9.
Another four drivers were slapped with fixed penalty notices for driving without insurance or invalid number plates, while a further 21 were stopped by police.
Sergeant Steve Clancey from Woodside SNT said: “Drivers with no insurance put other road users at great risk so that's why we want to take these illegal cars off the roads.
“This kind of operations disrupts criminal activity throughout the whole area and helps to make our streets safer.”
