The future of inpatient mental health services will be consulted on after a 12-month wait.
Inpatients were moved from Sutton Hospital to sites in Surrey and Wandsworth after the discovery of legionella in water systems in August 2009.
At the time healthcare officials said they closed three wards on the Chiltern Wing for six months so the bug could be eliminated.
Twelve months later Sutton and Merton PCT gave an assurance there will be a consultation on the site’s future.
Since the closure, acute inpatient psychiatric services have been provided at Springfield Hospital, Tooting.
