In the fight against crime and the battle for good causes Wimbledon now has its own superhero - Stormgirl.
In the aftermath of a series of bereavments last year, a normal young woman decided to challenge herself to overcome her anxiety behind the wheel by test driving a series of top-of-the-range sports cars.
In the process she discovered a love for speed and morphed into a superhero.
That is what happened to Wimbledon woman Fior Avona who has created an alter-ego Stormgirl - a superhero with a tragic past who plans to star in everything from comic books to charity fundraising campaigns.
She said: “It’s a strength that was growing within me from all that I had been through.”
The first Stormgirl comic is set to be finished in November, and a synopsis for the first film starring the superhero has also been produced.
In her alter-ego as a crime-fighting girl racer, Ms Avona has become a fixture at comic and film conventions and track days - alongside her trusty Nissan 370Z. She is also set to help fundraising efforts for good causes including the Shooting Star Hospice and Help for Heroes.
