A new chapel will honour Cardinal Newman as the religious scholar is put on the path to sainthood by the Pope.
The room, designed by Wimbledon architect Russell Taylor, has been unveiled at the London Oratory church central London.
Its cenrepiece is a new altar with an image of the cardinal, who became a noted religious scholar before he died in 1890. It took 20 weeks to complete.
Taylor is a classical architect who last created a chapel for the Brompton church in 2005.
Today the Pope, who is on the last day of a visit to Britain, will formall beatify Cardinal Newman at a ceremony in Birmingham.
