A 19-month-old toddler has been murdered and her close family seriously injured after a fatal flat fire on Saturday morning.
The five members of the family, believed to be from Thornton Heath, were attacked as they slept in a relative’s home in Camberwell.
The young girl has been named locally as Siariah Letang.
She died after flames tore through grandmother Brenda Ricketts’ first-floor maisonette on Saturday.
Her mother, Ellisha, 23, four-year-old brother Cameron and 11-year-old aunt, Shakira Jackson, had been staying the night at the home in Camberwell.
Fire crews found all five unconscious and suffering from smoke inhalation when they arrived just after 4.30am, with the toddler dying several hours later in hospital.
* A 27-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the fire, which is being treated as arson.
