The number of fires in Elmbridge increased last year, according to the latest figures.
Firefighters attended 163 fires in the 2009/10 financial year - 64 of which were people accidentally setting fire to their own homes.
Seven were malicious fake call-outs.
There were no deaths and three injuries, according to Surrey Fire and Rescue.
Its new policy of not responding to automatic fire alarms saw a 30% reduction in call-outs.
Walton Social Club, Dees Direct Design in Molesey and the Surveyor pub in Molesey were secured against arson.
