With New Orleans done and dusted, it was time for us to switch to the West Coast for some R&R.

For the next couple of days we will be staying with friends in Oceanside, about an hour north of San Diego - exactly the picture-perfect location you imagine this part of the world to be.

With Rhian gradually on the mend Wednesday is set aside as a rest day, but with restaurant week in full flow in SD, we will return with plenty of beach and food reviews.

And with the weather thankfully cooler than the sticky and sweaty Big Easy, we will hopefully be checking out some movies for the blog.
