A 20-year-old man died after being hit by a train at Clapham Junction.
Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the station at 6.35pm on Monday after the man was struck by the 6.23pm service from Waterloo to Basingstoke.
A BTP spokeswoman said his death was “currently being treated as non-suspicious”.
She said: “Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended but the man, believed to be 20-years-old and from Fareham, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
