Walton Casuals manager Neil Shipperley insists he is not getting too downhearted after a 4-3 defeat to Godalming Town on Tuesday.
Danny Buckle scored twice for the visitors with Kristian Webb netting the other but it wasn’t enough and leaves Casuakls in eighth place with ten points from seven games.
“I don't set targets, but I do set standards and at the moment the players are matching them. It's important to keep in context how this club did last year,” he said.
“If you score three goals away from home you would expect to win the game, but we conceded soft goals and the damage was done. We battled well but we were lacking a little bit.
“We've kept two clean sheets, one in the cup, and if we're going to do anything this season we need to improve on those statistics."
Walton's next three games: Sept 25 Horsham YMCA (h), 27 Bognor Regis Town (h), Oct 2 Eastbourne Town (FA Trophy, a).
