Mayor Boris Johnson presented an award to an NHS Wandsworth team for their efforts in encouraging employees to cycle.
NHS Wandsworth's Physical Activity team were presented with the award on September 10 as part of the London NHS Cycling Strategy.
Mayor Johnson was happy with the work the team were doing and insisted it helped to produce a better working environment.
He said: “I welcome the efforts of NHS London to promote cycling to its own staff and to Londoners as a whole. We know that employers find staff that cycle to work turn up turn up full of beans and irrepressibly happy and healthy.”
In Wandsworth, there are now over 40 staff members who have signed up to the scheme.
Caroline Straker who signed up to the scheme recently loves it and is already beginning to feel the benefits.
