Victims of the Pakistan flooding are to receive help with safe water supplies from Sutton and East Surrey Water.
The company is sending 13 collapsible storage water tanks to the country which can be rapidly transported and set up to provide fresh water supplies.
Karl Reid, Sutton and East Surrey Water’s health, safety and security manager, said: “We were asked by the Department for International Development (DFID) if we could help and realised these tanks would be ideal.
“Provision of a secure and safe fresh water supply is essential in this tragic situation where millions of people have no access to this vital resource. Without it, many children and adults are at risk of serious illness which could be fatal.”
