Julian Speroni 7 – It is no exaggeration to say it would have been double figures without him. He made some top quality saves and could do nothing about the goals. Badly let down by those in front of him. Palace's man of the match.

Nathanial Clyne 5 – Started at left back and left isolated far too much so struggled. Better when moved to right back but seems to be missing a bit of his spark.

Paddy McCarthy 5 – His poor pass led to the free kick for the fourth goal but made some good blocks and looked generally upset at the final whistle. Booked in the second half and should have been in the first.

Claude Davis 3 – Too many mistakes of his this season have cost Palace. He was at fault for the first goal when caught out of position and the intercepted back pass for the fifth was just comical. Time to give Barrett a go.

Alex Marrow 5 – Did okay at right back before moving into midfield half way through the first half where again he was okay but didn't stand out. Derby passed around him far too much.

Edgar Davids 3 – He did not look fit and it was a mistake to play him after one training session. Started in midfield where he looked lost and was out of the game. Got booked and then moved to left back where he was taken apart and absolutely dreadful. Went back to midfield second half and improved.

Owen Garvan 4 – You forgot he was playing some times and he just looked a little lightweight and half a second short. Did not get a grip on the midfield and seemed a little confused as to what his role was alongside Davids and Marrow.

Neil Danns 4 – Another one with a poor performance. Started right wing, then went left wing, then behind Zaha and then back to the left wing. Looked lost and had no impact on the game.

Kieran Djilali 4 – Given the nod ahead of Cadogan and maybe that was a mistake. Struggled to track back Brayford's runs and made no impression going forward. Was sacrificed before half time as Burley tried to shore up the defence.

James Vaughan 3 – Had started the game well but was deservedly sent off for the late lunch on Brayford. You could say it cost Palace the game but in truth Derby looked like they were going to win easily before then.

Wilfried Zaha 6 – Had to play up front on his own after Vaughan went off and did the role without complaint. Had Palace's best chance in first half injury time which he made himself.

Subs:

Julian Bennett (Djilali, 44) 5 – Should have started as Palace looked most comfortable once he came on at left back. Added attacking impetus.

Calvin Andrew (Zaha, 70) 5 – Didn't have an impact.

Andrew Dorman (Davids, 76 ) 5 – The match was well and truly over by the time he came on.

Not used: Lewis Price, Pablo Counago, Kieron Cadogan, Alassane N'Diaye.
