TV presenter Ortis Deley helped raise more than £3,000 for the neonatal unit at St George's Hospital by taking on a 72-mile bike ride.

The Gadget Show star joined a team of rugby players called the Storks on September 18 as they rode from the Tooting hospital to the Queen Alexandra hospital in Portsmouth.

The money will be put towards charity First Touch's current campaign to fund a £36,000 transport incubator. The team had already raised more than £2,000 for First Touch through fund raising at their rugby matches.

Team captain and organiser, Dylan Wrixon, said: “Late last year one of the Storks players, Toby Mussell, had twin boys who were looked after at Queen Alexandra but also paid a visit to St George’s.

“Ollie and Tom are doing really well now thanks to the dedication of the staff and the new technology and expertise they were able to provide at these specialist units.

“The boys competed to raise as much money as they could for the two units, with eight raising money for each unit. The team that lost was fined in the traditional rugby drinking way.”
