A robber who attacked a 91-year-old women in her home has been jailed for six years.
Sharon Davis, 54, followed the pensioner from an opticians in central Croydon on the T33 bus to Pixton Way, where they got off and headed towards Hartscroft in Selsdon.
Homeless Davis told the woman she had a message for her from the opticians but the OAP ignored her and carried on her way.
Davis continued to follow her and, as the pensioner opened the front door, forced her way into her flat.
The 91-year-old put up a fight and began shouting at Davis, telling her to get out. Davis responded by tipping the pensioner’s shopping all over the floor and, after a struggle, tried to snatch the woman’s handbag from her shoulder.
The thief held a towel over the woman’s face to muffle her screams before escaping with her handbag.
Davis was identified by a fingerprint she left on the plastic bag she touched in the victims flat. Her details were circulated as wanted and she was arrested in Croydon on June 1.
She was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court on September 17.
