A new batch of 150 young doctors have joined Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The junior medics include 39 who have just graduated and are beginning their first year of work, while the rest are continuing their training.
The graduates will go on three different placements over the next year, including more than four months in medicine and four months in surgery.
New recruit Doctor Ravindran Kartighan said: “After six years of training, we’re now applying the knowledge that we have spent so long learning.
“It was a bit daunting at first, but this is what we have been trained to do.”
